I saw just about everything being caught from snapper to snook. This little stinker below actually won the prize for the most fish caught all together. She must have caught at least 10 fish in a 2 hour period. You should have seen how proud her dad was!
The prizes for the tournament included cash as well as a bunch cool prizes ranging from a variety of pin fish and crab traps to some cool T shirts. While I was there I met a ton of captains and I got to hear a bunch about the King Of The Beach Tournament coming up in November. FishNCheap definitely plans on sponsoring the event and contributing to the prize pool with some free charters or coupons toward some. If you're looking for a great fishing foundation to join that has some neat events that include the entire family then you'll want to take the time to visit The Old Salts home page and purchase an annual membership. It's only $30 bucks and it covers you for the entire you. Family memberships are only $35!
This Saturday Oct. 15th 2011 the Old Salts are hosting the "Very Special Kids Tournament" at Ft. Desoto Park and FishNCheap will definitely be out there supporting this event in full effect. If you'd like to participate is this great event helping special needs kids to have some fun fishing email me or the folks at The Old Salts for more details. The tournament runs from 8 AM till noon and blanket insurance policies are provided for all volunteer boats that will be taking these kids out fishing. We definitely could use a few more boats to make sure all the children get a chance to participate. I look forward to seeing some FishNCheap members there!
